What I have been doing while I was supposed to be doing something else

If you sew those hexagons together without white strips around the hexagons, you get diamonds.

You can see it better if you match up the triangles:

Steve Jobs on design

From an article in NY Times today:

“In most people’s vocabularies, design means veneer. It’s interior decorating. It’s the fabric of the curtains and the sofa. But to me, nothing could be further from the meaning of design. Design is the fundamental soul of a man-made creation that ends up expressing itself in successive outer layers of the product or service. The iMac is not just the color or translucence or the shape of the shell. The essence of the iMac is to be the finest possible consumer computer in which each element plays together. … That is the furthest thing from veneer.”

My little tribute to a great man.

flekka challenge!!!

I haven’t been around here for a while, but that does not mean that I haven’t been online. Actually, some of the projects finished just before the Summer inspired a new project: Flekka challenge – from an idea to a finished garment. It is a big project that I plan to do weekly so it required a separate space which you can find here. I have completed two projects by now – click on the pictures below for details and more pictures.

I will be making many more garments by modifying the basic sloper (or previous patterns) so visit often!
